"I’ve been part of the Scrutiny Group since 2017. Unfortunately I’d had to step away from my career a few years before joining and felt I wanted to contribute to something worthwhile.

"As a group we’re able to look at the services Cottsway provide and offer feedback and suggestions to them should we find areas that could be improved. It also means that we’re able to flag services which are working well.

"It’s been a worthwhile role for me as I volunteer alongside a very enthusiastic group of people and we all encourage and help each other. We’re able to attend training where necessary so that we have the skills to carry out our scrutinies. I find it has boosted my confidence and I really enjoy learning and understanding more about social housing.

"We’re only a small group of four members at present, but we’re always seeking other enthusiastic residents to join us. If time is a constraint, there are other ways to contribute. Volunteers can become part of a pool of helpful residents that we can call upon from time to time to answer questions or offer advice on a particular service or area.

"I’ve learnt a lot and have recently stepped into the role as Chair of the group. I’m looking forward to our future and with the continued support of the staff in Cottsway I know we have some worthwhile and interesting work ahead!"
