We’ve signed up to the Menopause Workplace Pledge

Women make up almost half of the UK workforce – with those over 50 being the fastest growing demographic in the workplace. The perimenopause and menopause will affect most women at some point in their lives.

Here at Cottsway we have been trying to raise awareness among our staff of the support that is available for any of them affected by menopause. We believe that that this isn’t just a gender or age issue - it can impact colleagues directly and indirectly and it is therefore something we should all be aware of.

We are proud to have joined many other organisations who have signed the national ‘Menopause Workplace Pledge‘.

Organised by women’s health charity, Wellbeing of Women, being part of this pledge means that we will:

  • Recognise that the menopause can be an issue in the workplace and women need support.
  • Talk openly, positively, and respectfully about the menopause.
  • Actively support and inform our employees affected by the menopause.

Not only does this support help those affected by the menopause, but it can also help us as an organisation too by increasing staff retention, reducing recruitment costs, improving productivity, happiness, and wellbeing, and ensuring a more diverse workforce.

For further information about the Pledge, see: Menopause Workplace Pledge

For more information about menopause and the impact it can have, as well as advice, see the Wellbeing of Women website: What is the menopause?
