We have exchanged contracts to deliver 53 new affordable homes on a development on the edge of Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
Bloor Homes South West will be building the new homes on our behalf. The development, named Avon Rise, is located 1.4 miles north of Malmesbury town centre and will provide a mix of one and two-bed flats and two, three and four-bed houses – 32 for affordable rent and 21 for shared ownership.
Colin Bloodworth, our Director of Development and Partnerships, said: “This is Cottsway’s first development in Malmesbury and we’re delighted to be providing affordable housing for the area, which has a high level of demand for rented and shared ownership properties.
“This is part of Cottsway’s ambitious development programme to provide more new affordable homes for those in housing need to play our part in reducing the housing crisis.”
This scheme is part of a large multi-phase development under construction since 2016 and this phase also includes land for a nursery to be built.
Ken Allen, Group Director of Partnership Housing at Bloor Homes, said: “Located on the edge of the ancient market town of Malmesbury, and within easy reach of the A429, Avon Rise is in a great semi-rural location with excellent transport links. We have an excellent working relationship with Cottsway, developed through our shared values of delivering quality housing for local people, living in communities they are proud to call home. Construction work on site is now underway, with the first of the 53 affordable homes for Cottsway scheduled for occupancy from January next year.”
