Twenty-four apartments on a new development in Swindon are being made available for social rent after we secured the properties.
26 June 2023
Twenty-four apartments on a new development in Swindon are being made available for social rent after we secured the properties.
We are West Oxfordshire’s largest affordable housing provider and have a growing number of homes in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, including Swindon.
We purchased the properties – all two-bedroom apartments - from Keepmoat Homes at the new Greenbridge Square development, with the support of grant funding from Homes England.
Colin Bloodworth, our Director of Development and Partnerships, said: “We’re delighted to have secured these market sale properties and to be providing them all for social rent and I would like to thank Homes England for supporting us in this.
“We want to continue delivering more much-needed affordable homes to support those in housing need, while maintaining our existing homes to a high standard. We have an ambitious development programme, successfully providing new homes in 2022-23 and we plan to build up to 170 further new homes this financial year.”
We already own and manage 20 homes at this development, which is located near Swindon Rugby Football Club, a short distance to the town centre, the A419 and M4.
Amanda Bishop, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat, West Midlands, said: "At Keepmoat, we’re dedicated to building homes that are accessible to everyone. Our partnership model is crucial to us supporting people who may otherwise be unable to purchase a new house. We’re extremely pleased that the sale of the apartments to Cottsway has completed and that these 24 properties will be available for social rent and will support the affordable housing provider in achieving its goals”.
