FREE support for parents and carers of young people who self-harm
We have 8 free places on Oxfordshire Discovery College’s 5-week Parent Toolkit.
This is an online course for parents and carers who are worried about self-harm or early signs of it, and who want to understand and feel more confident supporting their young person.
Supporting someone who self-harms can feel scary, overwhelming and lonely. Many parents worry about saying the wrong thing or making things worse. This course is a safe space to learn, share, and feel supported.
Thanks to a Legacy Fund grant from Travis Perkins Managed Services (who supply our repairs and maintenance team), we can offer 8 FREE places to Cottsway customers. This is a chance to gain knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to help your young person safely - while being supported yourself.
All Cottsway customers, regardless of where you live, can apply.
What you’ll learn
- Understand why self-harm happens
- How to respond calmly and without fear
- Build stronger connection and communication
- Connect with other parents or carers who understand.
