Did you know we offer our customers FREE coaching and mentoring support?
If you're dealing with a change in work circumstances, you may benefit from coaching and mentoring to help you learn, build confidence and get back on track. Sessions are led by independent consultant Neil Holman, who specialises in employment support and mental health issues.
Here one of our customers, who has a 9-year-old son, tells us about their recent experience:
“There’s been a lot going on in my life lately and, due to changes in my health and becoming a lone parent, I wanted to rethink the way I work.
“I found out about the coaching and mentoring support programme on the Cottsway website while looking to gain an understanding of what support was available. I thought it could be a good starting point – and it was!
“Having the space to be talk through my options with Neil was really useful. It gave me the opportunity to explore my situation with someone independent and, ultimately, adopt a completely different approach to how I work. Neil helped me to identify what motivates me, what I could learn from previous job roles and how to have a completely different perspective on my situation.
“By working with Neil, I was able to consider avenues and timings that I hadn’t previously thought about - such as how my childcare needs will soon change. He also encouraged me to think longer-term and to be more considered, rather than jumping from one thing to the next.
“Since completing the programme, I feel I am able to self-advocate more, making decisions on both my short and long-term goals. I’m now considering a getting part-time job while I develop self-employment opportunities - with a longer-term plan to build on this when my son starts secondary school. This approach will give me time to learn what will work for me best and build on my skills while still getting a salary - helping me manage any potential transition from employed to self-employed at a later date with less risk.
“If you’re wondering if you could benefit from Neil’s support, I would say give it go! It’s not a formal process and it’s great to have space to be with someone who is curious and asks questions to better help you understand your situation and needs. It also reminds you that there are a variety of ways to work and helps you find out what might suit you the most.”
