Cottsway retains top governance and finance regulatory ratings
We are pleased to have retained our top regulatory ratings for Governance and Viability today (13 November) from the Regulator of Social Housing after a stability assessment.
This refreshed appraisal comes after we received ‘G1’ and ‘V1’ ratings following in-depth assessment by the Regulator in early 2023.
The Regulator has reviewed financial information submitted by us to consider whether our current grades are consistent with this and have informed us that we have retained:
- G1 for Governance - this is the highest possible rating and shows we are compliant with the Regulator’s governance standards.
- V1 for Viability - again, the highest possible rating, illustrating that we meet the Regulator’s viability requirement and have the financial capacity to deal with a wide range of adverse scenarios.
Our ratings have been published today on the Regulator of Social Housing’s website.
This shows that Cottsway continues to be in a strong, robust position and we would like to thank our staff and Board Members for their ongoing support. This outcome is particularly pleasing given the extra challenges presented by increasing regulations that housing associations must comply with.
In addition to the governance and financial ratings, new Consumer Standards came into effect in April 2024 and the Regulator is now assessing social housing providers against a ‘C’ rating, depending on how well they comply. We are yet to undergo our first inspection and we will publish our rating once this has happened.
