Contracts exchanged on three new housing schemes

We've recently exchanged contracts on three new housing schemes which will provide 117 new affordable homes within our catchment area.

We are West Oxfordshire’s largest affordable housing provider and we have a growing number of properties in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

During the festive period, contracts have been exchanged on three sites which lie across two local authorities:

  • Brockworth, Tewkesbury Borough Council: 17 new apartments and houses with Kendrick Homes – 9 for affordable rent and 8 for shared ownership.
  • Highworth, Swindon Borough Council: 71 new properties with Barratt David Wilson Homes – 50 for affordable rent and 21 for shared ownership.
  • South Marston, Swindon Borough Council: 29 new properties with Vistry Group – 15 for affordable rent and 14 for shared ownership.

Colin Bloodworth, our Director of Development and Partnerships, said: “Cottsway currently own and manage over 5,700 homes and we want to continue to grow our property portfolio as there is a growing need for affordable housing.

“We have a clear vision for this and are investing over £150 million to deliver over 800 new homes during the five-year lifespan of our Corporate Plan, which runs until 2028.

“It’s been a particularly busy time recently, working with existing partners and new ones to exchange contracts on these schemes and it’s a great end to the year to have these new developments in the pipeline.”

As part of our commitment to become more sustainable, all of the properties will be built to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate rating over C or above to help reduce the carbon footprint and lower customer energy costs. Electric vehicle charging points will also be installed to help meet residents needs in the future.

These new homes are due to be completed between spring 2025 and winter 2027. To express an interest in one of the rental properties, you need to be on the housing register for the area. Please contact the relevant local council for more information.
