Contracts exchanged for 12 new affordable homes in Charlbury

The new properties will be built by developer Deanfield Homes and will provide a mix of one, two and three-bed homes. The 12 homes will include eight for social rent and four for shared ownership.

We're West Oxfordshire’s largest affordable housing provider - investing over £150 million to deliver 833 new homes between 2023 and 2028 to help meet local housing needs.

As part of our commitment to a more sustainable future, all homes will be fitted with air source heat pumps to help reduce carbon emissions and lower energy bills for residents. Electric vehicle charging points will also be installed to support future transport needs.

Colin Bloodworth, our Director of Development and Partnerships, said: “We’re pleased to be working with Deanfield Homes on this scheme. It will combine homes delivered through Section 106 planning requirements with additional homes that Cottsway is funding directly, providing more affordable, sustainable homes to support those in housing need in West Oxfordshire.”

Construction is expected to begin early in the new year, with completion scheduled for winter 2026. The 12 new affordable homes form part of a larger Deanfield Homes development, which will comprise 26 properties in total when complete.
