New Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs)
STAIRs is a new requirement for social housing providers that aims to ensure customers have easy access to information about the way we manage your homes and deliver our services.
Under the Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements, from 1 October 2026 all registered housing providers are required to make a range of specified information publicly available and easier to access.
From 1 April 2027, customers and their representatives will have the right to make a formal Information Request about how we manage our housing. This could include information about repairs, complaints, service charges, anti-social behaviour, health and safety, performance or housing management policies.
Access to information
We are committed to being open and transparent about we manage your home and deliver our services. We already published much of the information required under the STAIRs, but we’ve reviewed things and have added more detail.
We have also set up a dedicated STAIRs webpage bringing together key information about about our services, performance, decision-making and how we manage and maintain our homes.
We’ve also published a STAIRs policy, setting out our approach to STAIRs.
Looking ahead to Information Requests
We will update the STAIRs webpage with more information about Information Requests ready for 1 April 2027, which this second stage of STAIRs comes into effect.
